New Scenarios for Drone Agricultural Applications

On August 30th, the first flight of the drone in Yangcheng Lake crab breeding demonstration base was successful, unlocking a new scenario of feed feeding application for Suzhou's low-altitude economy industry. The breeding demonstration base is located in the middle lake area of Yangcheng Lake, with a total of 15 crab ponds, covering a total area of 182 acres.

"This is a professional drone with a nuclear load of 50 kilograms, which can feed more than 200 acres in one hour through timed and quantitative uniform delivery", introduced by the general manager of the business department of Suzhou International Air Logistics Co.

The UAV is a multifunctional agricultural drone integrating plant protection, sowing, mapping and lifting, equipped with a 50 kg large-capacity quick-change sowing box and blade agitator, which can realize efficient and even sowing of 110 kg per minute. Through intelligent calculation, the sowing precision is high with an error of less than 10 centimeters, which can effectively reduce repetition and omission.

Compared to traditional manual spraying of feed, drone spraying is more efficient, less costly and more effective. "According to the traditional feeding method, it takes about half an hour on average for two workers to work together to feed a 15 to 20 mu crab pond. With a drone, it takes less than five minutes. Whether in terms of improving efficiency or saving costs, it is very significant for promotion." Suzhou Agricultural Development Group, general manager of the Industrial Development Department, said.

In the future, with the help of underwater sensors installed in the crab ponds, the drone can also automatically adjust the amount of input according to the density of aquatic organisms, which will further benefit the standardized breeding and growth of hairy crabs, as well as the purification and recycling of the tail water, helping the base to more accurately control the growth cycle of the hairy crabs, and constantly improve the quality of farming.
